CPR SR41R Protein Skimmer with Rio 1700RV up to 120 Gallon

This skimmer can be used as stand alone or as an in-sump protein skimmer for those hobbyists who have an existing under-tank system, and want to add additional skimmer.

The SR4 is recommended for use in tanks of up to 120 gallons. It has a footprint of 8.5" x 4.5" and a height of 24". It has a unique gravitational water level control (without ball valve), which will maintain constant water level.

This skimmer includes the CPR recommended Rio 1700 powerhead with Venturi Kit.

Experts are learning that protein skimming is critical for marine aquaria, particularly sensitive reef aquaria. As a system matures, protein skimming can become the most important type of filtration.

Some of the compounds a CPR protein skimmer removes are: soluble proteins, amino acids, organic dyes, fatty acids, carbohydrates, enzymes, detergents, some metal ions, iodine, phosphorus, algae cells, protozoa, bacteria and tiny particles of detritus.

Of all the various filtration methods available to the marine aquarist, only protein skimming removes most organic from the system before they break down into toxic ammonia and nitrite compounds. CPR uses proven Rejuventation Venturi Technology (RVT) in its various protein skimmers which use air and water injection to efficiently remove excess organics.

All skimmers are produced with high grade acrylic which allows for the use of ozone without discoloration or damage, and they all have removable collection cups for easy cleaning.
