Golden Coris Wrasse is also referred to as the Golden Rainbow fish, Yellow Wrasse, Yellow Coris, or Canary Wrasse. It is golden yellow with a black eyespot on the dorsal fin. Golden Coris Wrasse should be called the Golden or Canary Wrasse for its bright bold sun yellow color, but is most often listed as the Yellow Coris Wrasse (Aright! it is not a Coris genus member of course). Initial phase individuals of Golden Coris Wrasse have one or two eyespots on the soft portion of the dorsal fin and a black dot on the caudal peduncle. The terminal phase has a single spot on the anterior portion of the dorsal fin. If color is a prerequisite for your next fish purchase then this fish has it. Golden Coris Wrasse is pretty much a typical wrasse in behavior, a greedy little guy who eats most things you want to feed him and swims around actively in the tank like a yellow bullet

Golden Coris Wrasse is a salt water species distributed all over Eastern Indian Ocean and Western Pacific, north to southern Japan, south to Rowley Shoals and New South Wales (Australia); Palau and Ulithi in Micronesia. Golden Coris Wrasse is an exemplary aquarium species that is suitable for peaceful fish only and reef systems.

A 30 gallon or larger aquarium with a sealed lid, a 2-3 inch sandy bottom to hide under when frightened, and other peaceful Wrasses. Golden Coris Wrasse gets frightened from its own species also. The Golden Coris Wrasse provides a good environment in the aquarium for peaceful fishes. Small schools of 3-5 individuals can be placed in larger aquariums It Golden Coris Wrasse does not have any specific swimming level. Golden Coris Wrasse is great for picking at pyramillid snails and bristle worms. It will eat fire worms and pyramidellid snails, protecting corals and clams. In addition, Golden Coris Wrasse may eat feather dusters, wild shrimp, tubeworms, and flatworms. It may also eat parasites off of tank mates. Regular feedings should include a variety of prepared and live meaty foods, such as feeder shrimps, flaked foods, and marine fish
